Ground yourself by touching metal. Remove white plugs, remove rumble motors and set to side. Take back plate and put it back on with the controller buttons first. Push springs of battery in and make sure of its quick sound. Screw the middle screw in first, then test if all buttons work.
In the steam vr beta you can unbind the rumble effects. Under settings > controller bindings or something like that Not sure what it was exactly called. You can disable haptics in the keybinding menü.But i think you have be on steamvr beta to use this.

The vibration function is only adjustable officially are in Games for Windows LIVE games. If you are playing a Non GWFL game then you’d need to refer to the specific game your playing. If you look in the settings most game’s that support gamepads have some sort of function to increase/decrease.

The only way to make the controller vibration working while playing games is to start the game with the controller connected with the usb cable and then brutally detach the cable during gaming and wait for the controller to reconnect via bluetooth, then the vibration will work fine on the wireless connection.

in Steam VR go to Settings>Controller>Manage Controller Bindings >Choose for wich App/Game you want to remove it> Active Controller Bindings : COSTUM > Edit this Bindings > Edit Haptics > Unused. oh and MAYBE if you dont find the option try the Steam Vr beta. I updatet before searching for it again
