A screencap taken from a PS5 teardown video shows that Sony uses a sticker to hold down a wire within the PS5 at this approximate location. The sticker is, obviously, not supposed to stretch into the fan housing, but it’s easy to see that mistakes could be made with the sticker placement.
Sony is finally announcing its own custom covers for the PS5. The console covers will be available in black, red, pink, blue, and purple, and will work on both the regular PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition. The new covers are designed to match the colors found on new pink, blue, and purple DualSense controller options.
Ultimately, the PS5 Digital Edition will likely be the cheapest PS5 you can get, and is a good fit for gamers who mainly buy digital and don’t have a stack of physical PS4 games lying around. But keep in mind the pros of having a disc drive before you decide.
There are obvious aesthetic differences between the two devices, as the PS5 Digital Edition has a slightly smaller profile owing to the absence of a disc drive. It also means that physical media cannot be played on the PS5 Digital Edition, including PS5 and PS4 games, DVDs, and 4K UHD Blu-ray movies.

Here’s everything you need to know. It’s now been over a year since Sony first launched the PS5, and there has been no sign of a PS5 black console. All PS5 stock – released in limited quantities – has consisted entirely of the white PS5, to the dismay of many. The Series X first launched in white.
Sony PS5 setbacks began with the pandemic
Manufacturing and shipping timelines were stretched, and demand has outstripped supply – it’s been seven years since a major Sony console launch. So Covid-19 has a lot to do with why you can’t find PS5 in stock today.
The PS5 is Sony’s newest console and has replaced the PS4 Pro as its most powerful gaming system. It boasts a better CPU, GPU and an internal NVMe SSD. The PS5 is, overall, a faster and more capable console. The PS5 is the latest and greatest Sony has to offer.
Many of the best PS5 games require between 40-60 GB of storage. Even if you mix in some PS4 games and smaller indies, you can realistically store 10-15 games on the drive at a time. After that, you’ll need to delete games and redownload them if you ever want to play them again.
Given the immense popularity and scarcity, we certainly wouldn’t expect any sort of price drop for the next few years though. And even though the PS5 Digital Edition is still a fair bit more than the Xbox Series S price, it’s not bad going considering the fact that this is the same PS5 console bar a disc drive.
Shortly after that first project, I was lucky enough to secure a PlayStation 5 console and quickly discovered that I could change the look of it pretty much on the fly using Plasti Dip.
Instead, the only thing you need to do is have an Epic Games Store account. From the moment you log in and head over to the Item Shop, the Blizzabelle Skin is right there ready for you to redeem for free. See? Simple, painless, and you don’t have to play the game until you get the skin.
The PS5 was shown off vertically, meaning it is intended to be played that way. The stand was not listed as an extra, whereas the controller, headphones, and camera were. Therefore, it is most likely that it will be included with the console, similarly to the Wii stand.
If you’re wondering why the PS5 is so hard to get for us non-famous folk, in short, it’s because of the pandemic-induced global chip shortage — and an increased demand for entertainment tech for those who were stuck at home for the better part of two years.
You also can’t rent games digitally, though subscription services like the Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus let you play tons of games for a low monthly price (which is sort of like renting).
GAMERS hunting for a PlayStation 5 are in for some bad news as Intel CEO warns that console shortages could last until 2023. Despite launching over one year ago, both the PS5 and Xbox Series X have been notoriously difficult to get hold of.
The PlayStation 5 may retain its performance over time, but it could start throttling and overheating due to an immense amount of dust, preventing it from maintaining a decent airflow. This doesn’t happen overnight, of course, but if you neglect your PS5 long enough in a dusty room, it’ll start acting up.
If your PS5 light keeps blinking blue, it could be due to any of the following reasons. You have pulled the power cable directly from the main wall to shut down the console. Video output resolution settings are misconfigured on the console. Your PS5 is running on an older software version.
It’s a pulsing blue line that warns your PS4 might no longer be operational. Normal consoles pulse blue then turn white. If the PS4 continues to pulse blue and then powers off, then it indicates that the console did not send a signal to the TV, which bricks the device and stops normal operation.
The new model has a 200-foot range (double that of the original), has a three-year battery life and is waterproof.
Can you change the theme and/or background on PS5? So far, there is no way to change the theme and background on PS5. Players could customize the home screen of their PlayStation device in the past by applying new wallpapers and themes. PS4 has a feature that allows users to download and apply themes instantly.
PlayStation 5 consoles will reportedly be available at some GameStop stores this Thursday, January 27. That’s according to tech newsletter The Shortcut, which said it was informed of the retailer’s plans by GameStop employee sources.
